Board Members
Kelly Shea-Miller, Ph.D. GAA President 2010-11
Kelly J. Shea-Miller earned her M.A. from California State University Fresno in 1992, and her Ph.D. in Audiology from the University of Georgia, Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders in 2001. Dr. Shea-Miller has worked in private practice, for non-profit clinics, as faculty at Seton Hall University and Montclair State University and is now the director of Audiology for Kaiser Permanente in Georgia. Since moving back to Georgia in 2007 Dr. Shea-Miller has been an active GAA member; she has served as publicity co-chair and publicity chairperson for the GAA Conference, and has recently completed her first year as the Northern Regional representative to the GAA board. Dr. Shea-Miller’s experience serving on University committees and supervising audiologists has prepared her to lead GAA as its next president.
Jamie Howard, Au.D. GAA President-Elect
Originally from Orlando Florida, I came to know the western part of Georgia while I attended Auburn University. I graduated from Auburn in 1991 with my B.S. degree, then moved to Florida where I graduated from Florida State University with an advanced Master’s Degree in Audiology in 1993. I worked for a few years at the University of Florida Shands Teaching Hospital before I returned to school at Vanderbilt University where I graduated with a second Masters Degree in 1997 in Communication Disorders. Recently, I completed my Doctorate degree in Audiology from Arizona School of Health Sciences. I spent 6 years as the Director of Audiology for a private practice speech and hearing clinic in Columbus, Georgia and have spent the last few years working as an audiology consultant for two health districts. I served on the Georgia Universal Newborn Hearing Screening Advisory Committee from 1999 to 2004 and co-chaired the subcommittee responsible for establishing state guidelines for that program. I still work closely with local facilities to ensure the success of UNHS when I am not playing chauffeur to my two beautiful daughters.
Gerry Drumheller, Au.D. GAA Past President 2009-2010
Geralyn Drumheller, Au.D. received her Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Disorders from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, MA in 1977 and her Masters Degree from Northeastern University in Boston in 1979. She earned her doctorate in Audiology from Arizona School of Health Sciences in 2003.
Gerry began her audiology career at the Lahey Clinic, outside of Boston and became Director of Audiology in 1987. She was appointed and served as chairperson for the Board of Registration for Speech Pathology and Audiology for the state of Massachusetts by then Governor William Weld from 1992 until 1997 when she relocated to Atlanta. She is a member of the American Speech and Hearing Association and fellow of the American Academy of Audiology.
She has a wide range of experience including hearing aid fitting, having been dispensing for 10 years, but she also spent 5 years in hearing aid manufacturing. She has a diverse clinical background including pediatric to geriatric testing, balance testing, psychophysical testing with ABR, including intraoperative monitoring and was Director of the Cochlear Implant Team at Lahey Clinic.
Wendy S. Montgomery, Au.D. GAA Secretary
Wendy S. Montgomery is a clinical audiologist in South Metro Atlanta. She obtained her graduate degree in 1993 from the University of Georgia. She then returned to Fayetteville where she and her husband, Reid, raise their daughters, Anna (9) and Emma (6). In 2004 she earned her Au.D. from Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Wendy has been employed by The Hearing Doctors of Georgia, formerly American Hearing Centers, for the past 16 years. During her career she has had the opportunity to meet a number of talented audiologist while volunteering with the state audiology organizations. Most recently, she served as the program chair for the GAA convention committee. That experience gave her the desire to promote the profession through the academy by serving as the secretary on the GAA board of directors.
Jacquelyn Jackson, Au.D GAA Treasurer
Dr. Jacquelyn Jackson is originally from Columbus, OH where she attended Ohio State University (OSU). She is quite determined and self-motivated, having graduated summa cum laude with both her Bachelor of Arts in Speech and Hearing Sciences and her Doctorate of Audiology in a period of seven years, while raising her, now nine-year old, daughter! While attending OSU, Dr. Jackson helped to found the National Association of Future Doctors of Audiology (NAFDA) – Columbus chapter. She held several positions with OSU’s local NAFDA chapter, including Membership Officer, Hearing Conservation Program Coordinator and President. Dr. Jackson moved to the Atlanta area to complete her fourth year residency at the Atlanta VA Medical Center. She currently practices at Hearing Solutions in Marietta, GA. She is a fellow of the Academy of Doctors of Audiology, the American Academy of Audiology, the National Hearing Conservation Association, the American Tinnitus Association and the Georgia Academy of Audiology. She hopes to play a larger role in all levels of the audiology professional organization landscape, beginning with serving as the Georgia Academy of Audiology’s Treasurer!
Carmen Wright, Au.D. Northern Regional Representative
Dr. Carmen Wright received both her Bachelor’s degree in Communication Science and Disorders and her Master’s degree in Audiology from the University of Georgia. She completed her Clinical Fellowship Year with the VA Medical Center in Nashville, TN and received her Doctorate of Audiology degree from Arizona School of Health Sciences. Dr. Wright worked with Audiological Consultants of Atlanta for 8 years and a multi-physician ENT practice for 2 years. She is currently directing the Hearing Associates office in Lake Oconee. She enjoys working with all ages in the areas of diagnostics, hearing aid fittings and aural rehabilitation. Vestibular testing and rehabilitation are also a passion of hers. Dr. Wright is licensed by the state of Georgia, a member of the Georgia Academy of Audiology and fellow of the American Academy of Audiology. She currently resides in Watkinsville, GA with her husband, Chris and two young daughters.

Susan Parr, Au.D. Northern Regional Representative
Susan Parr earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education and Spanish from West Virginia Wesleyan College, Master’s Degree in Communication Disorders with emphasis in Audiology from the Pennsylvania State University and Doctor of Audiology degree from the University of Florida. She is a CAOHC Course Director and is ABA certified. Dr. Parr is a fellow of the Academy of Doctors of Audiology and is currently serving on the Board of Directors. Also she is a fellow of: the American Academy of Audiology and served as past Regional Captain for State Leaders, the Pennsylvania Academy of Audiology where she served as President and Treasurer, the Georgia Academy of Audiology serving currently as Northern Regional Representative, the National Hearing Conservation Association, the Educational Audiology Association, the Audiology Foundation of America and ASHA. Dr. Parr has presented at ADA conventions on Advocacy and Private Practice, AAA convention on The Role of the Preceptor, AFA white coat ceremonies, PAA conventions and workshops on Private Practice Audiology. She has been an Adjunct Professor for the University of Pittsburgh, Bloomsburg University and Towson University, and has organized several Hearing Aid Missions to Mexico, Brazil and the Dominican Republic. She was the owner of Parr’s Pro Hearing Services, a multi-office private practice in central Pennsylvania for twenty years performing all aspects of a clinical and industrial audiology practice including OAEs, ABR, ASSR, VNG testing and therapy, hearing aids, tinnitus evaluations, auditory processing and rehabilitation, and all five elements of the OSHA requirements for industrial testing. Susan is currently working at Habersham Medical Center as Director of Audiology Services providing audiometric testing, speech in noise testing, auditory processing testing and rehabilitation, tinnitus evaluations, counseling and retraining therapy, DP and TE otoacoustic emission testing, industrial hearing screenings, hearing aids and directs the Newborn Hearing Screening Program. Laurie Nelson, Au.D.
Metro Regional Representative
Laurie Nelson is a native of Fayetteville, Georgia. She received her Master's degree in Audiology in 1986 from the University of Texas at Dallas (Callier Center) and her Au.D. from Salus University in 2009. Laurie has worked in a variety of settings including infant hearing and ENT offices, and is presently the owner of the Marietta Center. She lives with her husband and two dogs in Kennesaw and has two children in college. She enjoys reading, exercise, travel and activities at her church. laurie@mariettahearing.com
Sean McClenney, Au.D. GAA Metro Regional Representative
Sean McClenney received his M.A. from the University of Tennessee in 1999 and moved to Atlanta to begin his career with ENT of Georgia. While working at ENT of Georgia, he served as the chairperson for the Audiology Committee. Then, he worked in a large, private audiology practice for four years that provided comprehensive audiological services to a very diverse population ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics. While working in this setting, he obtained his Au.D. from the University of Florida in 2004. Dr. McClenney has worked at the Atlanta VA Medical Center for five years where his primary interests are in vestibular assessment, cochlear implants, and extern supervision.
Lisa Bevill, M.C.D. Southern Regional Representative Lisa graduated from the University of Arkansas with a BA in Speech and Hearing Science and then graduated from LSU Medical Center in New Orleans in 1983 with Master of Communication Disorders. After moving to Macon in 1984, she has worked for Bibb County Public Schools (3 years), part time for a solo ENT practice (5 years) and for the past 20+ years, she has been working for the ENT Center of Central GA.
